Sleep?…Who said we were sleeping?

What would the world be like without antibiotics? Peapod has come down with an ear infection (her second in as many months), and she was so miserable last night. I’m not sure exactly what is so horrible about a screaming 6 month old, but there is something almost haunting. The drifting in and out of sleep, the groans from the other side of the bed when she pipes up again, the faint glow from the nightlight in her room, the distant sound of the radio we snuck in her room to play NPR….. It was officially dubbed “The Mother of All Bad Nights.”
Thankfully, morning came.
Thankfully, Small Bean didn’t hear a peep.
Thankfully, we have Amoxicillin and Ibuprofen to help the ear feel better….oh and the swing. Can’t ever forget the miracle-working swing.

Hello world!

So I’ve just been introduced to this blog thing by my darling husband, and it’s fascinating. I have a hidden urge to try to keep up with technology, although I would already be hopelessly behind if it weren’t for the aforementioned husband. In an effort to keep up, I’m going to get into the “blogging culture,” because, as I’ve noticed, there is a culture. It’s not quite as casual as people have gotten to be with their email messages (people actually type out most words instead of abbreviating), but definitely not as direct as “old-fashioned” websites. I like it.
Anyway, I hardly have a right to comment since I’ve just begun, but those are my current thoughts.
