Pop’s 81st Birthday

June25, 2005

We went to Hanshill tonight to celebrate Pop’s birthday. A good time was had by all–lots of good food, chocolate dessert, good company. Small Bean entertained the entire group at the end w/ her rendition of “God Bless America” complete w/ GIGANTIC waving flag. Very cute. It’s amazing to look around a room and watch 12 mostly grown people singing along with a 3 year-old at the top of their lungs. She loves it!
I’ve slowly been adding more blogs to the list that I check regularly. (I’m sure that there’s a fancy name for the aforementioned list, but I not sure what it is…surprise.) Some on Virginia politics, some on parenting, the weather….
It’s amazing how liberal most parenting sites/magazines/blogs are. It’s just assumed that all parents are tree-hugging, Bush-hating, anti-military, and pro-attachment parenting (ie. slings, family beds, kids-run-the-place attachment parenting.) As for Virginia politics, I have yet to find any women writing on this subject–not that this really means anything, just interesting to note.
Since I slept until the embarrassingly late hour of 12:45PM this afternoon, I owe a debt of gratitude to my fantastic husband. I haven’t slept this late since college, probably. It was so nice.
Peapod has another ear infection. We graduated to Augmentin this time…woo hoo. It doesn’t seem to be helping, though. She’s slept less since she got on it than before. Hmm… She’s sitting up well now, and trying to eat everything in site.
