Walking

August23, 2005

So we’ve taken up walking after supper for some exercise. Actually we’ve walked twice, which is more than once, so we’re working on a trend. Adam has said that he’s going to run after a warm-up walk with the rest of us, which he actually has done.
Oh, oh, there went the 10pm alarm. See we really are trying to be more structured around here instead of so fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants like we normally are. The 1opm alarm means that it’s time to go up to bed. It’s supposed to make us get in bed sooner, and sometimes it actually works–sometimes not. Sometimes we just ignore it like I’m doing right now.
Anyway, back to the walking. Tonight we walked to the ATM on Boonsboro, passed “Gwanddaddy” riding his bike, and then went to Kroger (2nd time today) for baby wipes. Don’t want to be without wipes, even though we know we could have made do.
That was our excitement for tonight. The 10pm alarm calls.

A “new” bathroom

We worked hard today on the bathroom, and it\’s finally finished! Exciting! It almost looks like a new room. New vanity, curtains, shower curtain. It’s late, and even I am out of wordiness tonight. Suffice it to say that I am thrilled to check another project off the list!

I’m not the only one!

Kudos to Mamaof2Blog for writing a blog! I’m so impressed. I have to say that her blog is a little more advanced than mine…I’ll have to take notes. It’s fun to know that somebody else is into this blogging thing. She’s a sweet friend of mine, and it’s so fun to find new things that we have in common. Who would have thought that you had a blog?
Do you think it makes us cooler (correct grammar?) moms…that we have blogs? Let’s just pretend that it does! :)

Too fancy for me??

Blogsome vs. Bloglines….
Bl0glines was easy to use, didn’t ever show me any code (or expect me to understand any code), and very sleek. Blogsome is definitely a much more fancy interface on which to host my blog, however, it is pret-ty fancy. Uh-huh. It’s got all these little buttons for me to click on to insert “who-knows-what”into my post, and it flashes CODE at me every once in a while. Jibberish, for sure.
Anyway, I like it because I get to have a pretty picture at the top of my page, otherwise known as a masthead, and I also get to post pictures. I don’t like the fact that I have spent 20 minutes tonight looking at the aforementioned CODE/jibberish in an attempt to figure out how to get my time stamp to work correctly. It’s timing every post 4 hours after I wrote it, and I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to fix it.
Pictures make things interesting: however, for them to to me any good, it would involve actually taking pictures of interesting things. It involves being in a good enough mood to imagine that the little subjects of your pictures might actually end up looking good in a picture, maybe enjoying their presence instead of hurrying through supper so that you can get them in bed as fast as is humanly possible. The reason for all of this hurrying is that you know that if they stay up any longer, somebody will be very unhappy…oh wait. Everybody’s been unhappy for the last 2 hours, that’s why they’re going to bed.
Small Bean didn’t sleep during her nap today, and Peapod skipped her morning nap because of church. Suffice it to say, we were all so cheery and fun to be around by bedtime tonight. :| It has been one of those nights in which we put the kids to bed, and then we each retreat to our own computer because we’ve got no energy left to communicate with each other.
So that turned into a gripe session…so sorry about that. I got way off topic. We’ll all be better once we get some sleep.

Relocated successfully!

Here I am over at Blogsome. This is going to be more fun now that I have pictures! Here’s Anne Page being very sad the other week. Cute at the same time!
So Sad!

A little bit what?

We all went shopping last night after supper at the L’burg mall for entertainment. We ended up in the dressing room at the Gap–all of us in the big dressing room at the end of the hall. So we all walk in there, and Adam and I start getting ready to try on clothes. Of course this entails taking off the clothes that we were wearing. As we start to do this, Small Bean, in a very loud voice that echos throughout the entire dressing room, says, “Are y’all getting a little bit NECKED in here??”
We looked at each other and about died!!!! It was so funny! Had to share.
