Details, details

To clarify, for those who are not familiar with such terms (Sharman :) , “BM” stands for bowel movement. Yeah, real nice, I know. Just wanted to make sure that the previous post sunk in–in all of its funkiness! (Who knows if that’s really how you spell funkiness, or even if it is really a word? It fits here, though.)
We are now on an everlasting waiting list for a vanity sink from Lowes to the tune of a 63 day back-order! It’s easier than moving a bunch of pipes, I guess. Not convinced, but then I’m not the one who’d have to move the pipes. That probably makes a difference.

It’s the beginning

Current Condition of Powder Room
It’s the beginning of many, many trips to Lowes as we start remodeling our downstairs bathroom, fondly known as the powder room. The goal of this whole remodel is to make it actually look like a powder room, somewhere you’d like to go to check your hair at a party, or to wipe your child’s rear end…either way. Anyway, it needs to look nice.
In case you’re wondering why the wiping was inserted into the story line above, it just happens to be on my mind. Our trip to Lowes this evening was a royal mess, in many senses of the phrase. Adam thought we were just going for a quick 20 minute trip to return the pedestal sink that didn’t work with the plumbing in our house. (Okay, it would work after many hours of plumbing work, but we’re not up for that at this point. We may change our minds after finding out that our second choice is back ordered until DECEMBER!)
I knew that there were about 10 things that I wanted to check out, all bathroom related, and I have literally been trying to make it to Lowes all day today…with no luck until this evening. So I dragged the entire family to Lowes with me so that Adam could see the vanity selection. Bad move on my part! Within the the first 10 minutes of being at Lowes we see Small Bean digging in the back of her pants. Curious, we ask what’s going on, and the reply is, “I’m trying to see if I have BM in my pants.” Very matter of fact, just like that. This is from a child that has been potty-trained for a while now, so it seemed a little odd. Anyway, I got elected, in what could never, ever be construed as anything less than a democratic process, to accompany said child to the restroom where the contents of said pants were, in fact, BM.
I’ll spare you more details, but that was just the beginning of a crazy trip to Lowes tonight. We did get a light for above the shower, and a medicine cabinet to go above the toilet. Some progress, at least, has been made, but there are miles to go before we ….. never mind, nothing that rhymes here is good. We’ll just leave it at that.
