Pretty Bathroom

November8, 2005

Tonight was the fun part! We installed a bunch of stuff that we’d been working on in the bathroom, and it’s mostly done. Still a few odds and ends to tie up, but it’s beginning to look really good! I’m thrilled because it feels like it has taken quite a while, and I’m, honestly, ready to move along to another project. (Like maybe getting ready for Christmas, or Anne Page’s birthday.)
Lots of Toile
You can’t tell from this next picture, but the toilet is new and so is the medicine cabinet. The cabinet has a cool paint job that took quite a few coats of paint–black with red peaking out from underneath. It looks cool, and even Adam, who hasn’t been thrilled with the results of some of my other painting experiments, likes it.
New toilet and medicine cabinet
The floor is wood, painted a dark red, and all the fixtures have the oil-rubbed bronze look.
Anyway we’re still waiting on the light for above the sink. Oh, and about that sink, we got the call from the auto-bot man from Lowes about 2 weeks after we placed our order saying that our order was ready to be picked up. I was totally amazed–so amazed that I made the auto-bot man repeat the message. I also did it because I liked hearing his funny voice. I never reported our good fortune after griping about it on here, so I just wanted to clear the record. Lowes actually exceeded my expectations, for once.
I just wanted to mention that Lynchburg is moving further into the 21st century…we’re getting a Panera Bread and a Home Depot. And, in answer to the inevitable questions, no, we don’t have either of these in Lynchburg yet, sigh, sigh. There’s a whole list of fine establishments that I would be interested in having in the ‘burg, but, alas, nobody has asked me.
So anyway, if you’ve been thinking about visiting the ‘burg, Hotel Webb is now back in business. Come visit!
