Trying “wheely, wheely” hard

November21, 2005

Overheard today at chez Webb:
Small Bean, as she picks at her food and after only eating about 5 bites total, “Mama, I love you a lot.”
“I love YOU a lot.”
“Mama, can I have dessert now?”
“No, Small Bean, that was a nice try, though. Keep eating.”

What’s the purpose?

Okay, so this blog was supposed to be light and funny, but over the last couple months it has been merely informational. Sorry about that. I sat down tonight to write something funny, but funny didn’t come out. Only grouchy. So I erased it–all of the grouchy part–and started over. I actually didn’t know that you could be grouchy in a blog post, but it has now been proven that you can. Not something to be proud of, I don’t think.

Birthday Girl

Peapod had her 1st birthday about 10 days ago, and here she is before cake and then after. She had fun–we all had fun.
Before Cake, Opening Presents
After Cake
So yes, I’m sure you’re probably thinking that she looks like a boy in the top picture…c’mon, you know you were. I dress her in blue a lot, and people think she is a boy lots. It’s funny–it doesn’t bother me like it did with Small Bean. People thought she was a boy too, and it made me mad.
(Do you hear my head getting bigger as I think about how much more mature I am this time around?…hahahahaha….yeah, right.)
So by this time of the year, I’m supposed to (according to the grand Pooh-Bah of organization) have my Christmas presents purchased and sitting in my neatly organized closet, if not already wrapped and sitting in my neatly organized closet. I am going to have to sheepishly admit that I have not really started on Christmas up to now, and that I’ve got a lot of work to do. However, I have given a considerable amount of thought to other fun parts about Christmas, which are probably not as important. For example, I think it would be very cool to put a garland over the front door for Christmas. I found a fabulous picture in a mag, so we’ll see if that materializes. Now that I’ve put it in writing, we’ll see. :) The other fun thing I’ve thought of is to have a party between Christmas and New Years. I remember thinking last year that there was so much going on up until the 25th, but then the week between Christmas and New Years was pretty quiet. So if I ever have a Christmas party, it might actually be AFTER Christmas. Sounds like a fun idea to me, we’ll see.
