I am so excited. I have been trying to figure out a good way to wear my hair ever since I got it cut at the beginning of December. I’m not sure if it’s the cut, or just that it’s getting so long, but it has been hard to find a way to make it look good–and I’m talking about looking good without taking all morning because I don’t have all morning.
Several times I’ve tried the 3/4″ and 1″ rollers that I’ve had since college, and I end up looking more like Dolly Parton (at least in the hair) than the model who’s picture I took to the salon when I got my hair cut. Not good; definitely too curly and big, 80’s in fact. So I did a little online research and decided that I needed to get some bigger rollers.
I mentioned my frustration to a friend whose hair ALWAYS looks good, and she suggested a curling iron. After brushing her off initially because I thought it would take too long, I had to call back later and ask for more specifics about her curling iron. I felt stupid calling someone to ask about a curling iron, but that’s what friends are for, right?
So I did what she suggested and got a big curling iron/flattening iron combo–either 1.5 or 1.75 inches in diameter, not sure which. It works great! My hair looked as close as it’ll ever look to the hair of this model that I’ve had on my kitchen bulletin board for months. It was awesome! I’m totally thrilled.
She said that it only takes her a few minutesl; it took me about 15, so I’ll have to get faster. Practice makes perfect, I guess. Adam liked it, so that’s good. He’d always love for me to be more glam, I think, so it’s no wonder. It has gentle waves/curls at the bottom, but nothing too drastic. I like it a lot, so we’ll have to see if it’s something I can pull off in a hurry in the morning. We’ll see.
